WATCH: NFL player retires one week after signing with Patriots

Cheers to noted home brewer and offensive tackle Jared Veldheer, who is calling it a career. Just one week after signing with the New England Patriots, he was placed on the reserve/retired list on Tuesday.

We don’t know exactly why he made that decision after just one day of Patriots OTAs, but Boston Globe reporter Ben Volin has the financials of his retirement:

Veldheer was brought to New England on a one-year deal to provide a veteran presence on a young and injured offensive line.

He spent four years with the Oakland Raiders, four years with the Arizona Cardinals, one year with the Denver Broncos and, well, about a week with the Patriots.
