Watch: New Orleans Saints salute essential workers in cities of 4 2020 opponents

The New Orleans Saints will be visitors when they come to Atlanta, Chicago Detroit, and Philadelphia in the 2020 season. They likely will receive a warmer welcome than most teams.

That is because the team knows the coronavirus pandemic is more important than any game, And what the franchise has done is had restauranteurs in four cities around the country deliver food to healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential workers.

Per Nola.com:

Check out the stirring video produced by the team. Shaneika Dabney-Henderson, the Saints and Pelicans’ Vice President of Production, was credited with the concept and Janae Adams, a production assistant for the Saints and Pelicans, was credited with coordinating the restaurants and donation sites.

Per Nola.com:

The Saints purchased pizza in Detroit from Michigan&Trumbull for workers at Honey Bee Market, a grocery store in Southwest Detroit.

In Chicago, the Saints bought pizza from Pequod’s Pizza of Chicago and delivered it to Swedish Covenant Hospital.

In Philadelphia, the Saints purchased Philly cheesesteaks from Joe’s Steaks + Soda Shop for workers at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

And in Atlanta, the Saints bought turkey spaghetti from Kelz Kitchen and delivered it to police officers working in Zone 5 of the Atlanta Police Department.

The pandemic hit home for the Saints as coach Sean Payton was diagnosed with it after he made a trip to Oaklawn Park racetrack in Arkansas.

Well done, Saints.
