WATCH: Nets share pictures of their new grey, city-inspired court

The Brooklyn Nets have two new stars on their roster after signing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving this offseason. Now, the Nets have a new court with a fresh, unique design for the stars to compete on this season.

The team shared pictures of its new gray, city-inspired court Monday on its Twitter account. According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, who had the opportunity to see a sneak peek of the court last week, it is the league’s first all-gray court.

The wide-angle shot of the court shows a gray hardwood that ESPN reports was a color perfected to still show gray on television broadcasts, but which the organization and NBA did not want to be too dark. Keeping with detail from when the team came from Nets’ original design, the herringbone pattern on the court is still visible.

New York subways are the inspiration for the clean typeface that spells out “Brooklyn Nets,” at each baseline. A “subway tile pattern run(s) across the apron perimeter,” according to the team’s Twitter.
