Watch: Nate Burleson expresses why he loves Detroit and Lions fans

Former Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson has never been shy about showing his love for the city of Detroit or his time playing for the team. He joined the Rachael Ray Show to discuss why he loved being a Lion.

“Some of my favorite memories were going out to eat with my teammates and talking with fans that showed us support even though we didn’t deserve it,” Burleson said.

The NFL Network personality then launched into a great story about an encounter at a restaurant with a fan who told him how much he appreciated Burleson and his teammates for their effort and hard work. They initially thought he was the chef, so when a waitress revealed it was in fact a janitor who just told them he spends all his free money to go to Ford Field and watch them, it made an indelible impression on Burleson and his mates.
