Watch Nate Burleson break down Dolphins QB Josh Rosen’s tape

Offseason blues got you feeling down? The uncertainty of the Miami Dolphins’ 2019 season keeping you blue? No need to stress — there is plenty of reason for optimism and plenty of Dolphins storylines to keep you busy. Last month, NFL Network’s Nate Burleson spent five minutes on “Good Morning Football” breaking down plays of quarterback Josh Rosen and why Burleson is optimistic about what the future holds for Rosen in Miami.

Burleson finds ample plays highlighting all of the features you’d want to find in a franchise quarterback: anticipation, accuracy, pocket mobility and some clutch plays in big situations. Of course, Rosen’s rookie season wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows — but Burleson’s segment does a really nice job of showing that Rosen has all the makings of a good pro quarterback. He still needs to button up the mistakes, misreads and get a little help from those around him. But the foundation is there.

Rosen’s development will come down to his chemistry with Miami’s pass catchers/offensive line and his ability to progress in quickening his grasp of the game. It isn’t uncommon for rookie quarterbacks to enter the NFL and struggle with the speed of everything.

But those who adapt are the ones who survive. The Dolphins will need 2019 to figure out which side of the fence Rosen falls on, but as Burleson points out, he has the tools to make it happen.
