Watch Nacho Novo miss Rangers’ opening goal against Celtic after stopping for selfies

Rangers legend Nacho Novo missed James Tavernier ’s quick-fire opener in today’s Old Firm game after stopping for selfies outside Ibrox.

The Spaniard was attempting to take his seat in the Club Deck for the clash with Celtic when a group of Gers fans spotted him making a late arrival in Govan.

But the former striker, no stranger to a goal against the Hoops, spent more than five minutes posing for pictures with fans, missing the 12pm kick-off and Tavernier’s second-minute free-kick.

As Novo tried to make his way through the turnstiles, the roar of the Ibrox crowd could be heard in the background.

Meanwhile, inside the ground the vast majority of the 50,000 crowd erupted.

Tavernier stunned Celtic with his quick free-kick that eluded everyone including visiting keeper Scott Bain.

Jermain Defoe also appealed for a penalty after going down in the box but referee Kevin Clancy was having none of it.

Rangers were leading 1-0 at the break and enjoyed the better of the first half.

Steven Gerrard’s side were 2-0 up after the hour-mark thanks to Scott Arfield slotting home.

It’s not yet known if Novo missed that one as well...

Rangers ended up winning 2-0 with a brilliant performance that sent the champions reeling.
