NEW DELHI: Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings by 4 wickets in their last league match of IPL 2024 in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Abhishek Sharma was adjudged the Man of the Match for smashing a 28-ball 66 studded with 6 sixes and 5 fours as Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down 215 with 5 balls to spare.
Now a video shared by Abhishek Sharma's sister is going viral showing Punjab Kings' bowler Arshdeep Singh walking upto the stands with Abhishek and asking for blessings from his mother after the match.
Arshdeep says in Punjabi, "Give me the blessings which you give to Abhishek, I want the same."
Abhishek, who like Arshdeep, hails from Punjab, and has been in fine form for Sunrisers Hyderabad scoring 467 runs from 13 matches at an average of 38.92 and a strike rate of 209.42.
Abhishek has hit the most number of sixes in this edition of the IPL (41) and would be looking to add to the tally with SRH taking on Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday.
With 19 scalps from 14 matches, Arshdeep is at the third spot in the most wicket-takers list in this edition of the IPL and would be looking to play a significant role with the ball in India's T20 World Cup campaign next month.
