Watch moment 'selfish' shopper fills trolley with 100 toilet rolls after tighter restrictions announced

A woman has been caught 'panic-buying' after a clip shows her shoving more than 100 loo rolls into the boot of her car.

The woman can be seen filling her car with six packs of toilet paper after shopping at an Asda supermarket, reports StokeonTrentLive.

The footage was recorded in Stoke-on-Trent shortly after 7pm on September 23 after tougher restrictions were announced by the Government.

The clip echoes similar scenes from March, before the UK was placed into a national lockdown.

The stunned passer-by who filmed the footage told StokeonTrentLive : “I thought we had learnt from last time that panic-buying is not necessary.

"It also has the potential to cause arguments and bad feeling amongst people doing their shopping.

People took to social media to slam the shopper's actions as 'selfish' and 'ludicrous'.

But others were quick to point out that the woman may have a legitimate reason for needing so much loo roll such as being the manager of a care home.

An Asda spokesman said: "We’ve currently got good availability in our stores and the same can be said for our online slots."
