Shocking footage captured on a CCTV camera shows a man trying to rob a woman in a street during the middle of the day.
Police have released the footage in an attempt to get witnesses or anyone who recognises him to come forward to help find him.
The incident happened around 2.20pm on March 17 on Rufford Avenue, Mansfield, where a man attempted to snatch a handbag from the victim.
However a member of the public stepped in to help and the man ran off empty-handed along Woodhouse Road.
No arrests have yet been made and police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Officers would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident.
