It's a moment of pride for India as LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu has been crowned Miss Universe 2021 at the grand finale held in Eilat, Israel. It's after 21 years that someone from India has bagged the coveted crown. Lara Dutta won this title in the year 2000 and Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe in 1994. Harnaaz is now the third person to have won the Miss Universe title from India.
The official page for Liva Miss Diva shared the first message from Harnaaz after his Miss Universe win on Instagram. She says, " Thank you so much to each one of you for supporting me since day one. Always believing in me and making me be worth this. Now it is time to save the universe. Let's do it together."
Harnaaz Sandhu received the crown from Andrea Meza, who was Miss Universe 2020. The other two winners were Miss Paraguay 2021 Nadia Ferreira, who was declared first runner-up, and Miss Universe South Africa 2021 Lalela Mswane, who grabbed the second runner-up title.
Liva Miss Diva 2015 Urvashi Rautela was also present at the event and she was among one of the judges. Urvashi's couldn't contain her happiness after Harnaaz's win and took to social media to share the Miss Universe's crowning moment and wrote, "As a Miss Universe judge made the best decision. I can't stop crying. We did it India."
