WATCH: MiLB team apologizes to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for video

The Fresno Grizzlies, the Washington Nationals’ Triple-A affiliate, learned a lesson on Monday: Pay close attention to videos you play at your ballpark!

The team faced backlash on Memorial Day for playing a video on their video board that was intended to honor United States armed forces but also took a shot at U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The video, which was pulled from YouTube, features a speech by former president Ronald Reagan. When he mentions “enemies of freedom,” a photo of Ocasio-Cortez pops up among images of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un and former Cuban president Fidel Castro.

The Grizzlies posted an apology to their fans on Twitter Monday night, followed by an apology to the congresswoman.

We're embarrassed we allowed this video to play without seeing it in its entirety first. We unconditionally apologize to Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) in addition to our fans, community and those we hurt. It was a mistake and we will ensure that nothing like it ever happens again.
