It was a pretty uneventful first half for the Rams offense on Saturday night against the Broncos, but the defense stepped up in a big way. Michael Hoecht, in particular, had a strong first 30 minutes of the game.
Toward the end of the first half, Hoecht beat the Broncos’ offensive line for a strip-sack on Drew Lock, who never saw him coming off the left side of the defense. Hoecht stripped Lock and recovered the fumble, doing everything himself to set the Rams up with great field position.
They converted the turnover into three points, heading into the half down 10-9.
