Watch Miami’s tight ends put in work at OTAs

The Miami Dolphins’ stretch of organized team activities (OTAs) has commanded a lot of attention around the quarterbacks. Both veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick and hopeful quarterback of the future Josh Rosen have been the talk of the town, and rightfully so. The presence of a new quarterback is sure to inject a lot of enthusiasm from media and fans alike.

But for all of the dynamics among the Dolphins’ quarterbacks, it shouldn’t be overlooked that there are a ton of storylines among the team’s tight ends as well. There’s Mike Gesicki — the 2018 2nd-round pick who struggled through a trying rookie season. Veteran signee Dwayne Allen figures to be a fixture this year, especially as a blocker. And then there’s the potential reclamation of Clive Walford, who was a promising prospect out of the University of Miami but hasn’t found his legs in the pros.

The Dolphins pulled back the curtain on their competitive tight end room with a brief video dedicated to “Grind time”. The Dolphins’ 2019 philosophy is to cultivate competition across the board — the tight end room may well be the perfect embodiment of that. It’s game on for the tight ends — it’s going to be fun to see play out.
