Melania Trump made an unexpected statement regarding Jeffrey Epstein at the White House on Thursday, 9 April.
The First Lady took to a podium to deny any connection to the convicted sex offender or knowledge of his abuse.
Ms Trump condemned “unfounded and baseless lies” and “false smears” against her from “politically motivated individuals and entities” who have sought to “gain financially and climb politically,” saying such statements “must stop.”
“I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing,” she added.
