The NFL Network was in Allen park for the Detroit Lions training camp on Tuesday and after soaking in their joint practice with the New England Patriots, Stacey Dales hosted Matthew Stafford on “Inside Training Camp Live”.
Dales began by asking Stafford about his back injury, then shifted to what the value of joint practices brings. She then steered the conversation to what it’s like practicing on the field with Tom Brady and asked him about what their conversations entailed — even pointing out the last time the Patriots were in Detroit, the Lions delivered them the rare loss.
Next Dales brought up the intensity of practice, even pointing out rookie PJ Johnson getting the boot from practice after he started a skirmish on the field — which we noted in our observations from Day 11.
They then the conversation shifted to how coach Matt Patricia has evolved as a coach in his second year, and what message he is delivering to the locker room. That transcended into how new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell has brought new changes to the Lions scheme and what that means for him. Finishing up by discussing how the Lions skill players have played during this training camp.
