Watch massive brawl erupt between people dressed as Boris Johnson and 'Wales rugby players'

Spirits were high ahead of the England v Wales Six Nations match, but they spilled over a little in Swansea and even 'Boris Johnson' got involved - lots of him.

Ahead of the Wales v England match at Twickenham, two groups of supporters clashed in a street in the Brynmill area of Swansea , close to St Helen’s rugby ground.

But what set it apart was the two sides were dressed in uniforms; the Wales supporters as Welsh rugby players - and the English as Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The stand-off saw more than twenty people confront each other and throw flour and other items that came to hand, in what is probably best described in rugby terms as ‘handbags’.

Passer-by Shaun Cook who witnessed the confrontation said: “Football fans get the bad reputation, but these rugby boys were like animals.

“Carnage it was. Rugby hooligans”.

The two groups clashed outside the former Cricketers pub in Gorse Lane, and continued round the corner to St Helen’s Avenue.

Bins were upended and their contents left blowing around the street.

Uplands councillor Peter May, who lives nearby, happened to witness the confrontation also.

He said: “I was out taking a delivery when it all cracked off.

“It was a real confrontation, although it was very short-lived. I’d say it didn’t last more than a couple of minutes”.

South Wales Police have been asked to comment.
