Ohio State has plenty of NFL talent doing remarkable things at the highest level. One of those is former OSU and current New Orleans Saints cornerback Mashon Lattimore. The Cleveland native took the league by storm once he entered it, winning the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2017.
Ever since that rookie season, Lattimore has continued to ball out down in New Orleans. He made the Pro Bowl in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and continues to be one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
Those skills were on display again on Sunday when Lattimore’s Saints took on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a divisional playoff game. The former Buckeye made plenty of plays in the game, but one in particular stood out for the high degree of athleticism.
On first and ten late in the first quarter for the Bucs, Tom Brady dropped back and slung a pass deep down the left sideline to receiver Mike Evans. The ball was right on target and looked destined to be a catch by Evans, but instead, Lattimore dove and used his right arm to swat the pass away, somehow staying away from contact that would have drawn a pass interference call.
In case you missed the play, you can watch it below thanks to an NFL tweet that was reshared by the Ohio State Football Twitter account.

This is why Ohio State defensive backs have begun to call themselves B.IA. (Best in America) instead of DBU. Unfortunately for Lattimore and the Saints, they lost the game to Brady and the Bucs 30-20.
