Watch Mark Cuban the moment he learned the NBA had suspended season

The basketball world was rocked on Wednesday evening when the NBA announced it was suspending its season following a player on the Utah Jazz testing positive for COVID-19, a strain of coronavirus. The Jazz were scheduled to play the Thunder this evening, but the game was postponed before tip-off and fans sent home.

That wasn’t true of every game in the NBA on Wednesday night, however. Several games were already well underway at the time of the announcement, making the entire thing even more surreal.

The Dallas Mavericks were one of those teams. In the middle of a game against the Denver Nuggets, the news broke, and cameras cut to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban as he appeared to look down at his phone and get the news.

Cuban’s surprise sure makes it seem that the league made this decision without the knowledge of at least one owner.
