WATCH: Marcus Smart sprinting through his recovery process

Just two weeks after a four-to-six week timeline was initially given for his recovery process, Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is literally sprinting through his rehab. Smart tore his left oblique three weeks ago after making hard contact with Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic.

Smart is also now taking threes, another major sign of progression for a player who couldn’t walk or breathe normally after his injury.

Still, with an exit before NBA Finals, or even before then, Smart could miss the entirety of Boston’s playoff run. Despite Smart recovering as quickly as the medical staff could reasonably expect, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens and president Danny Ainge continue to stress that the fiery leader’s return isn’t imminent.
