As the Boston Celtics take on the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center, yet another altercation between the Celtics and Sixers nearly occurred, with Celtics shooting guard Marcus Smart shoving an unsuspecting Joel Embiid after running into a hard screen from the All-Star big man. Smart would earn a Flagrant 2 foul for his actions, as Embiid earned a technical foul for pursuing Smart after the push.

Smart has gotten into a number of squabbles with players in the past, with the most notable coming against Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith and Atlanta Hawks small forward DeAndre’ Bembry. Yet, when it comes to Philadelphia, Smart is far from the only player to get into a scuffle with Embiid.
In last season’s playoffs, even Celtics point guard Terry Rozier threw a punch at Embiid in a chippy Game 4 matchup.
The contest between Boston and Philadelphia has been close and the absence of Baynes and Smart will only make it easier for the 76ers talented offensive players to score.
