WATCH: Marcus Peters turns Russell Wilson’s first 2019 interception into a pick-six

Seattle’s Russell Wilson had thrown 15 touchdowns this season, including an eight-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Lockett in the second quarter of the Seahawks’ Week 7 game against the Ravens, without throwing an interception. Wilson’s combination of production and efficiency is one reason he’s the lead dog for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award as the season nears the halfway point.

However, efficiencies are made to be broken, and Wilson had his broken with five minutes left in the first half. Not only did Wilson throw his first pick since Week 17 of the 2018 season, and not only did the interception go the other way for a 67-yard touchdown; it was intercepted by cornerback Marcus Peters, who the Ravens traded for just this week.

RELATED: What are the Ravens getting in Marcus Peters?

Peters did a great job of jumping a screen here — while on-field awareness is not always his strong suit, Peters is a remarkable defender when his acumen matches up with his athletic talent. It certainly served him well in this case, and it put the Ravens ahead, 13-10.
