Police were called after a man was seen paddling through floodwater on an inflatable ring in Leeds.
Tony Hargreaves, 46, was seen making his away across the murky water that has submerged Gelderd Road, using a plank of wood as a makeshift oar, on Sunday, February 9.
The road flooded after Storm Ciara brought high-speed winds and torrential rain.
Tony's daughter Mercadeze Hargreaves revealed that he decided to make the voyage after being dared to by members of his family.
While most people laughed at the site of Tony in his inflatable rubber ring, someone decided to report him to West Yorkshire Police, by phoning 999.
After that call, the force tweeted: "We are aware that Geldard Road in Leeds is flooded. We are also aware of the male with his self-made dinghy having a little paddle. No need to ring 999."
However, police have also been urging people to stay inside and avoid driving during the storm.
The heavy rain has caused several rivers to burst their banks in Leeds and flooded roads around the city.
London North Eastern Railway (LNER), TransPennine Express and Northern are also advising passengers to avoid travelling today, as the storm has forced them to close flooded lines, run reduced timetables and implement speed restrictions.
The Met Office has issued an extreme weather warning with guidelines stating that there could even be a "danger to life from flying debris".
There are nine flood warnings in place across Leeds.
