Watch: Lucas Torreira leaves Fratton Park on crutches after Arsenal's win over Portsmouth

Arsenal have a significant injury concern following the FA Cup fifth round victory over Portsmouth at Fratton Park, after Lucas Torreira left the field on a stretcher.

The 24-year-old lasted just 15 minutes before being forced off following a crunching tackle, leading to major concerns for Mikel Arteta and the run-in of the season.

Torreira was making his first start for the Gunners since the 2-2 draw with Chelsea at the end of January and was one of nine changes in Arteta's team selection.

After the match, the images coming out of Fratton Park after the match suggested that the midfielder could be a serious doubt for the weekend clash against West Ham.

The Uruguay international was pictured leaving Portsmouth's stadium on crutches and wearing a protective boot, although it may have been a precaution.

Torreira did not attend hospital after picking up the injury and a scan to discover the full extent of the problem is likely to take place tomorrow after the squad's return to North London.

After the match, Arteta said: "Yeah he was very sore, he’s in a brace at the moment.

"We’ll need to get him assessed in the next few days and we will know more."

The Gunners boss will hope to have Torreira available for the upcoming Premier League fixtures, as the Gunners hunt down a top four spot.
