A Love Islander left her date in hysterics with her slightly embarrassing North East geography blunder.

Contestant Jess Gale has been getting some stick after asking if Middlesbrough was near London on a date with Luke Mabbott.

The 20-year-old student was on a date with the heating engineer from Redcar who is also a Justin Bieber lookalike.

Luke, 24, told Jess he hails from the seaside town - and then clarified that it was near Middlesbrough.

But his date had no idea where it was and asked if it was near the capital.

When Jess queried if that was near London, Luke said: ‘Nowhere near London’, before bursting into laughter.
