WATCH: Lonzo Ball working on lower body with trainer during off-season

For the first of presumably many times this summer, video of Lonzo Ball working out has surfaced. With his recovery from his ankle injury nearly complete, Ball is back in the gym and focused on improving that lower body.

In a video posted by Andy Barr to his Instagram, a physical therapist with Innovate Performance, Ball is shown working on his balance and lower body in a pair of videos.

Barr is an experienced physical therapist who has worked with various other NBA players, most notably in Paul George. Barr has also worked with the New York Knicks, Manchester City and NYCFC among other teams in his career.

Per the testimonials page on the site, Barr has worked with fellow NBA players in Baron Davis, Steve Novak, Tyson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari and Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany as well. On his Instagram, Barr also has a video working with Pascal Siakam.

As for Ball, this is a welcome sight considering the vast majority of the injuries he has suffered in his brief NBA career have been lower body injuries. Even before the season-ending ankle injury, which was a bit of a freak injury considering he stepped on a player’s foot, Ball had twisted his ankle multiple times during the season.

Last off-season, Ball was unable to do much lower body work due to the knee surgery he underwent, limiting how much he could do. This is also part of the reason why the Lakers opted to shut down Ball for the season, even though he likely wouldn’t have been healthy regardless. By giving him the chance to get fully healthy heading into the summer, Ball can work on all aspects of his body and game without limitations.
