WATCH: Lonzo Ball returns to court for first time since ankle injury

After an elongated absence from the court – at least in the public eye – the first video surfaced on Wednesday of Lonzo Ball putting up shots in a gym both from the three-point line and from the free-throw line in a gym. It’s the first time Ball has taken to the court since being injured in mid-January with a grade 3 ankle sprain.

After initial optimism that Ball might return to the court in time for a playoff push, a bone bruise that was only diagnosed after Ball began rehab from the sprain further sidelined him and would eventually rule him out for the remainder of the season.

The Lakers opted to allow him to recover at a slower pace to let him reach full heath during the summer. Ball was seen earlier this season working on his lower body as well, an area he has suffered multiple injuries to through his first two seasons.
