WATCH: Lonzo Ball ramps up on-court work at Lakers practice

Lonzo Ball might still be a week or two away from making his return for the Los Angeles Lakers, but he’s finally starting to show signs of progress.

During the Lakers’ practice on Tuesday, Ball did some light on-court work without crutches or a walking boot. Granted, it wasn’t especially vigorous work, but it’s the most he’s done since suffering a Grade 3 ankle sprain on Jan. 19 against the Houston Rockets, according to Kyle Goon of the OC Register.

Ball started practice with a farmer’s walk, which is a simple exercise done by carrying heavy weights and walking.

He then took his workload on the court, where he shot free throws, jump shots and layups.

Ball will be re-evaluated by the training staff on Thursday. While it’s unlikely he’ll return within the week, there’s a good chance he’ll continue to increase his workload on the court, making a return before the end of the season more likely. Ball has missed the last 17 games for the Lakers.
