Lonzo Ball’s NBA future is not the only thing up in the air when it comes to basketball. While it’s unclear what team he wwill play for next season as he enters restricted free agency and appears set to leave New Orleans, he’s also been a long-time sneaker free agent as well.
Last summer, LaMelo signed with Puma and sparked some belief that Lonzo could soon follow. However, the offseason came and went and wwLonzo went into the year as a sneaker free agent, never signing or hinting at a deal.
His future in that department could be decided this summer as well, and he could be dropping some hints as to where he might land. On Wednesday night, he dropped a workout video on Instagram where he sported a Puma LaMelo shirt from his limited edition line.
Putting on hold the discussion of Lonzo’s next endorsement deal, his game and jumper look remarkably smooth in the clip. Even by summer workout standards where everything looks easier, Ball’s jumper has hardly ever looked this smooth as he continues to work on it.
Circling back to his apparel, it’s likely in this scenario that Ball was simply supporting his brother. But as someone who has almost exclusively worn Kobe shoes and Nike shoes, Nike would likely be a frontrunner. At the same time, his brother is with Puma and one of his closest friends in Zion Williamson is with Air Jordan, making it an interesting decision that could eventually be made.
