WATCH: Lonzo Ball, LeBron James share hug at NBA Summer League

Lonzo Ball and LeBron James grew close during the two’s lone year together in Los Angeles, particularly late in the season when both were sidelined due to injury. Despite Ball being traded for James’ friend and fellow Klutch client Anthony Davis, the two don’t appear to have any love loss.

With Zion Williamson making his professional debut at the Summer League in Las Vegas on Friday, new Pelicans Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart showed up to support Ball.

James, meanwhile, arrived for the Lakers’ game just prior and huge around for Williamson’s game. The two parties greeted one another with a hug and a brief chat.

Despite any speculation otherwise, the trade doesn’t appear to have damaged the relationship between Ball and James. Ball has already appeared on James’ The Shop and James has spoken highly of Ball off the court as much as on it.

It’ll be interesting to see how their relationship continues going forward once they are on different teams but it’s a positive sign the two sides have remained close.
