Zion Williamson needs little help in creating highlights on the basketball court. In his short time in the league, Williamson has already posterized one defender and lived around the rim and is the main reason the Pelicans have remained unbeaten through the preseason.
Lonzo Ball, though, has served as a willing participant in supplying Williamson with more opportunities to create a highlight. The two have connected multiple times this preseason and in scrimmages, finding one another with lobs for dunks.
None of those plays compared to Sunday’s alley-oop. In San Antonio facing off against one of the Western Conference stalwarts, Ball hit Williamson from well beyond midcourt for a long-range alley-oop.
Despite being only four preseason games into the 2019-20 season, Williamson has already dropped jaws multiple times. This play might top the list, even if it’s a list that’ll grow at a rapid rate this season. Expect the two to continue to find themselves on highlight reels as the chemistry between the pair is apparent.
