Watch live as scores of fans gather for Bonnie Tyler’s funeral in Swansea

Watch live as scores gather in Swansea for the funeral of Bonnie Tyler, who died last month at the age of 75.

On 9 July, the family of the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” singer said that she “unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for”.

She had been placed in an induced coma in May in intensive care following emergency intestinal surgery.

Around 1,000 people have gathered outside St Mary’s Church in the centre of Swansea, where a celebration of life service and procession will be held for the late singer on Monday (17 August).

Whilst only family, friends and invited guests will be allowed to enter the church, fans wanting to pay their respects can watch the service on a screen in St David’s Square.

After the service, she will be taken on a final journey through her hometown of Skewen, near Neath, at about 1.20pm, before a private family committal and farewell service.

It comes after huge crowds of fans lined the streets of Mumbles on Saturday (15 August) as her coffin, which was draped in a Welsh coffin, was returned to her former home village.

Tyler was born in Skewen, Neath, Wales, in 1951. She first came to prominence in the 1970s with songs like "It's a Heartache” and “Lost in France”.

Known for her raspy, powerful vocals, she achieved global superstardom in the 1980s through collaborations with Jim Steinman on iconic anthems "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero". The former made her the first Welsh person to score a number one hit in the US.
