A day that began with Danny Amendola signing with the Lions as my daughter left for the bus stop went crazy. Before she got back home in the afternoon, the Lions agreed to deals with CB Justin Coleman, DL Trey Flowers and TE Jesse James.
None of the deals are official yet and the money discussed remains purely speculative, but it’s difficult to not see any of today’s reports not bearing fruit come Wednesday, when the free agent signings other than Amendola (he’s officially a Lions WR now) get consummated at the start of the new league business year.
Instead of writing quite a bit more, I decided to record my thoughts on the signings made. I also opined a little at the end on the ridiculousness of some other deals, notably Landon Collins getting $14 million a year.
