With training camp in full swing, the Detroit Lions media department is bringing back “Inside the Den: Training Camp with the Detroit Lions” for its fifth season. This behind the scenes video series gives fans a unique look at the team during the fall months.
In the first episode, the video focuses on the players returning from their summer break and preparing for training camp. After the players arrive, there are some informative clips from when assistant coaches and players met with the media the day before the team took to the field for open practices.
From there, the voice of the Lions Dan Miller gives a smooth transition into on-field play. The next several minutes are a nice blend of on-field action meshed with one-on-one interviews from impact players giving their take on the happenings around them.
The surprise addition of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Mike Daniels comes next and the music accompanying his first appearance in Honolulu Blue perfectly captures the hype surrounding him. Included in this section, is Daniels first interview with the media where he identifies coach Matt Patricia as the reason he signed in Detroit, calling him “a genius“.
