Watch: Lions get tricky on Thanksgiving

It didn’t take long for the Detroit Lions to open the bag of tricks on Thanksgiving. Matthew Stafford found T.J. Hockenson with a big second-down conversion on the team’s first offensive possession thanks to a little fancy deception.

Playing without three of the team’s best offensive weapons in Kenny Golladay, Danny Amendola and D’Andre Swift, the Lions sprung the best remaining weapon for a big gain. Hockenson got wide open on a play that started with Stafford handing the ball to RB Kerryon Johnson, who flipped it to WR Jamal Agnew coming back the other direction.

Agnew then delivered the ball back to Stafford, who fired a perfect strike to Hockenson for a 51-yard gain. The Lions cashed in the drive with an Adrian Peterson touchdown plunge to take a 7-0 lead.
