Hornets guard Devonte’ Graham seemingly accidentally confirmed that LiAngelo Ball was working out with the Hornets on Friday. On his Instagram Story, Graham was walking around the Hornets’ weight room joking with his current teams. Graham shows the likes of the Martin brothers, LaMelo Ball and P.J. Washington before panning the camera at the end and pointing toward LiAngelo Ball before the video cuts out.
Pausing the video just before it cuts off shows rather clearly that it is LiAngelo in the final frames. After rumors suggested Ball was in Charlotte working out with the Hornets, this video at least confirms he is in the facility.
Ball’s grandfather and LaVar’s father, known as Big Yank, had indicated that LiAngelo was in Charlotte as an explanation for him not being at a recent Drew League game. LaVar’s team Big Ballers is competing in the Drew League this summer with the possibility of all three Ball brothers competing together.
LiAngelo could simply be in Charlotte working out with LaMelo in the same facility, but it seems unlikely he would have a stay in Charlotte this long that didn’t lead to some sort of deal with the Hornets, The most likely outcome still remains a Summer League roster invite that would allow Ball to showcase his talents on the biggest stage he’s had yet.
