WATCH: Le’Veon Bell impressed coach Adam Gase during mandatory minicamp

Le’Veon Bell practiced with the New York Jets on Tuesday and Thursday at mandatory mini-camp. The running back was only an active part of 10 plays in 11-on-11s, but still impressed head coach Adam Gase in how quickly he picked up the offense.

Gase called Bell “sharp,” in his work and learning of the offense. Gase was as impressed with Bell’s communication about plays he wasn’t in as the coach was with the way Bell ran plays, saying, “Whatever we put him in he was asking more questions on, ‘Hey, do we do it this way,’ or, ‘What am I looking for here?’”

“His vision when he was watching the run plays, the comments he was making I think got a couple of us like, ‘Wow. That’s a really good point that he’s making there.’ Obviously, his experience and his ability as a runner, we heard it vocally.”
