WATCH: LaVar Ball on phone learning of Lonzo Ball, Anthony Davis trade

While most fans were shocked at the report on Saturday that the Lakers and Pelicans had agreed to a trade, they weren’t the only ones seemingly left in the dark. With youngest son LaMelo Ball playing in the Drew League, LaVar Ball was in attendance video surfaced of what appears to be him finding out about the trade while on the phone.

To make matters worse for the Big Baller, the trade was announced over the PA system with LaVar in attendance.

The trade flies in the face of many things he said in recent weeks but LaVar also noted that Lonzo would make future teammate Zion Williamson better. Of course, that came at roughly the same time he was saying his middle son, LiAngelo, could beat Williamson 1-on-1.

Nonetheless, for Laker fans, it’s likely a happy side effect that the days of listening to LaVar Ball spout away are in the past.
