WATCH: LaVar Ball calls Lonzo ‘damaged goods’ to Big Baller Brand in heated argument

All is well between Lonzo Ball and his father, LaVar, according to Lonzo, but things had to get bad before they got to where they are now, and fans got an inside look at some of the bad on the most recent episode of “Ball In the Family.”

In the aftermath of the Alan Foster scandal, Lonzo was non-committal about his future with the Big Baller Brand and that didn’t sit well with LaVar. At some point, LaVar got impatient and demanded an answer from Lonzo.

While Lonzo didn’t give him an answer, he started a conversation with LaVar about possible changes that could be made to the brand, including the name. Lonzo believed that the scandal and the brand’s name were synonymous. LaVar vehemently disagreed and had this to say to his oldest son.

“Listen to me, son: When I come out with a name and then somebody tell me to change it, that’s like me telling me to change your name,” LaVar said. “That’s like people saying ‘Oh, yeah, change Lonzo’s name to Alfonzo on the fact that he been damaged goods for the last two years.'”‘

LaVar is of course referring to the fact that Lonzo has had an injury-riddled, two-year NBA career. Lonzo has played 99 games through his first two seasons in the NBA. For context, there are 164 regular season games in two NBA seasons.

Regardless, Big Baller Brand likely won’t be getting a name change, but Lonzo has made it clear that he’ll only return to the brand if things are done on his terms. We’ll see if anything changes when the season starts.
