A wonderstrike from Lauren Kelly saw Ireland beat the reigning champions Brazil in the World University Games in Naples last night.
The Maynooth student won back possession, drove towards the box and sent an arrowing shot into the net from thirty yards out.
Kelly's goal with 14 minutes left on the clock proved to be the winner as Dave Connell's side made an ideal start to the tournament.
They will now take on South Korea on Thursday in their final group fixture with a place in the quarter finals in their sights.
You can watch the superb match-winning goal below:
Ireland: A McQuillan; J Gargan (L O’Callaghan 85), C Mustaki, L Dwyer, S Doyle, L Kelly, N Farrelly, E Ryan Doyle, A Meaney, M Smyth Lynch, S Fox.
