Watch: Latavius Murray carves up Texans with a 30-yard touchdown run

The New Orleans Saints may have started a comeback in their Monday Night Football game against the Houston Texans. Despite having started the night with some small gains in the ground game, the Saints continued to work on establishing the run during their first possession of the second half — and it paid off.

Running back Latavius Murray, signed earlier this year as a free agent, ended up scoring his first touchdown in black and gold. Murray found a hole and streaked up into the heart of the Texans defense, cutting in the open field to outrace his opponents en route to the end zone on a 30-yard scamper. Wil Lutz successfully made the after-point attempt to close the Texans’ lead to 14-10. The sequence was preceded by a huge 41-yard catch and run by Alvin Kamara to get the Saints deep into Texans territory.

It’s exactly what the Saints needed to get back into the game after a missed field goal sent them into halftime down 14-3. The Saints need more positive plays like this to maintain their momentum and find a way to retake the lead over Houston.
