WATCH: Lanarkshire Live take on a virtual Czech Republic on PES 2021

With Scotland's first EURO 2020 game on the horizon, football fever has definitely swept across the country.

And at Lanarkshire Live, we wanted to see if we could predict Monday's score.

Reporters Matt Bryan and Gregor Farquharson jumped into a game of PES 2021 co-op mode and teamed up as Scotland to take on the Czech Republic.

With PES having the official EURO 2020 mode, we tried to have as many Lanarkshire-based players in the squad as possible.

However, the squads haven't been fully updated and we were missing a few players such as David Turnbull and Kevin Nisbet.

It has been a long time since Scotland fans have seen their country represented at a major tournament - 23 years to be exact.

This will be Gregor's first-ever time watching Scotland at a national tournament (Lan Live)

For reporter Gregor, 21, this will be his first time cheering on the team at the EUROS.

He said: "It is really exciting to see my country represented at such a huge tournament for the first time in my life.

"Going into Monday I reckon we have a strong chance against the Czech Republic. The odds are definitely in our favour and the whole nation is behind the team."

Lanarkshire Live reporter Matt was still in primary school the last time Scotland were present at an international tournament.

He said: "What an exciting summer this is!

"It's been so long for us all but the Euros are finally here and I cannot wait to see our lads walk out against the Czech Republic.

The last time Matt saw Scotland at a tournament was France 1998 (Lan Live)

"I was only in P2 during France 98, but I already loved football and somehow still remember parts of it and the whole buzz.

"Fast-forward 23 years, and we're finally back, and there's so much to be positive about now.

"We have a strong chance of getting out our group and we'll be behind the team all the way!"
