WATCH: LaMelo Ball throws down putback dunk against Breakers

After being the victim of a huge highlight in the first half of Thursday’s premier duel with the New Zealand Breakers and R.J. Hampton, LaMelo Ball had his own highlight in the second half.

Early in the fourth quarter in a game that turned into a blowout quickly, LaMelo Ball found himself toiling away in garbage time. Ball, though, was still playing at full speed and the result was the biggest dunk of the season.

After a contested layup from Aaron Brooks missed, Ball came flying in from the baseline before throwing down a huge one-handed putback dunk, getting the Breaker fans out of their seats.

Ball and Hampton lived up to the hype individually with each making big plays on the night. Not surprisingly, though, the contest was never close as the Breakers raced out to a big lead in the first half then fired away from three in the second half to blow the game open quickly in the second half.

For Ball, after a slow start in the first quarter that resulted in a couple turnovers, a stint on the bench did the 18-year old well as he entered in the second quarter and impressed the rest of the game, hitting teammates with no-look passes all over the court.
