Watch: Lamar Jackson hits Willie Snead for first TD of the preseason

The Baltimore Ravens started off a little slow, notching a field goal and punt in their first two drives. But the Ravens finally put it into the end zone on their third, when quarterback Lamar Jackson found wide receiver Willie Snead.

Jackson hit Snead in the flat as Seth Roberts picked off the cornerback. Snead then made a man miss as he tumbled into the end zone for the score.

That type of short throw is exactly what many expected from Baltimore’s offense this season. It got the ball out of Jackson’s hand quickly and let the receiver pick up the needed yards. It’s quick, smart offensive football that utilizes high-percentage throws to march down the field.

While it’s only preseason, Jackson and the Ravens’ offense struggled in the red zone late last season. It’s nice to see new offensive coordinator Greg Roman dial up something to punch the ball into the end zone and not have to settle on kicker Justin Tucker to put up points.

Let’s hope Baltimore can build off of this momentum en route to a strong preseason statement win.
