WATCH: Kyle Young flies out of nowhere for the put back bucket and foul vs. Penn State

Ohio State is in action against Penn State on the hardwood tonight in a makeup affair from a game that got postponed from January 6. The Buckeyes are off to a good start, and it didn’t take long to get what will probably be the best highlight of the night on film.

You know forward Kyle Young from his tough nose defense, opportunistic play in the post, and all-around floor game. What we don’t often see from him is plays like the one we witnessed early on in this one.

With OSU already up 5-0, guard Duane Washington fired up a contested three that missed the mark. The ball caromed off the rim and we saw Young fly from seemingly off the screen to the rim where he got both hands on the ball, put it back, all while absorbing contact from the Penn State defender for an old-fashioned three-point play.

In case you missed it, here is the spectacular highlight in all of its glory.

Well done. I always worry about a guy landing like this, especially Young who has had to battle through some lower-body injuries already in his career. Pretty remarkable though and Young seemed to be just fine afterward.
