WATCH: Kobe Bryant jokes about his first encounter with Nick Foles

There was a time where many didn’t know the name Nick Foles, but after two consecutive playoff runs with the Philadelphia Eagles that is no longer the case. Despite that, however, the NFL star apparently still views himself as a regular person and that became visibly clear to retired NBA superstar and Philly native Kobe Bryant when Foles tried to introduce himself to Bryant for the first time.

Check out the video below as Bryant explained the hilarious encounter at a recent event at his former high school.

Talk about being a modest player.

For those who aren’t aware, Bryant is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan which means he definitely was glued to his television set during Super Bowl LII when Foles led the team to a 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots. He added that he was personally sad to see Foles go, but thanked him for his run with the Eagles as Foles was the key to the team acquiring it’s first Super Bowl title.

Foles signed a new $88 million contract with the Jags at the beginning of the new league year in hopes that he’ll be the missing link for the Jags Super Bowl aspirations. If he can maintain the play that fans like Bryant witnessed in Philadelphia, that definitely shouldn’t be a problem being that the Jags already have some young talent in place that is identical to that of the Eagles.
