In a bizarre incident during Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) match against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 on May 11 in Kolkata, a young man tried to hide the match ball as a six landed in the stands and found himself at the receiving end of a police official's anger.

The cop ended up retrieving the ball from the fan, who was trying to hide it under his clothes.
The incident was captured on a video that has gone viral. The cop was seen pushing the young boy towards the exit gate after throwing the ball back into the ground.

In the rain-shortened 16-overs-a-side match, KKR defeated Mumbai by 18 runs.
In reply to KKR's 157 for 7, Mumbai's chase ended at 139 for 8.
The win assured two-time champions KKR of a place in the playoffs while eliminating five-time champions Mumbai out of the race.
