WATCH: Kim Jones shares personal, emotional story about Odell Beckham

Throughout his career with the New York Giants, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was portrayed as an immature, selfish and explosive personality that was impossible to manage.

In the aftermath of his trade to the Cleveland Browns, reports have surfaced suggesting Beckham became “too much of a headache” for management to deal with.

That’s the perception of Odell Beckham, but it’s not necessarily the whole story or even the reality.

For those who got to know Beckham on any level, they learned that he’s an emotional man with a fire burning inside the likes of which most can not relate. He’s driven to succeed and above all else, he’s driven to win.

On a personal level, he cares about people. All people. And on Wednesday, in what amounts to a goodbye of sorts, NFL Network’s Kim Jones shared a personal and emotional story about how she connected with Beckham and how he took it upon himself to touch her heart following a life-threatening illness that kept her sidelined for 46 long days.

That is the man Odell Beckham Jr is — the one the ravenous media would never allow the fans to see or experience. And like Kim Jones, we all hope his fresh start in Cleveland allows the world to get to know the real Odell.
