The Brooklyn Nets (3-4) continue to wait out Kevin Durant’s return to the court following his Achilles injury in the 2019 NBA Finals. There is still no firm timetable on the two-time Finals MVP’s return, but Wednesday the 31-year-old was seen putting up shots at the team’s practice.
New York Daily News reporter Kristian Winfield shared a video on Twitter from the team facility showing Durant’s progress in rehab.
The nearly-two minute video shows Durant dribbling and stepping into multiple mid-range shots around the free-throw line. While he doesn’t jump, the video shows the forward’s ability to repeatedly bend at the ankle around where he suffered the injury below his right calf.
Durant’s practice shots are a movement that NBA fans haven’t seen from the former Warrior since before his injury last season, a good sign indeed.
