File this under “It Probably Didn’t Need To Be Said But We’re Saying It Anyway.” Kevin Durant will be out for the entire 2019-20 NBA season as he recovers from a torn Achilles tendon.
Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks said as much on Tuesday, the day after New York Post reporter Brian Lewis tweeted this:
“I think what we’re going to say is the expectations are that he’ll be out for the year,” Marks told reporters in Brooklyn.
“We’re not going to plan on him playing. His rehab will obviously be predetermined over the course of the next few months, how he goes with our performance team. But ultimately, Kevin will have a large say in when he comes back and how he’s feeling. But, the expectations now are for him to be out for the year.”
Durant, who joined the Nets in free agency this summer, tore his Achilles in Game 5 of the NBA Finals while playing with the Golden State Warriors.
