A well-known tradition saw three-time All-Star Kemba Walker address the Boston Celtics’ crowd before tip-off in their home opener against the defending champion Toronto Raptors and the Celtics’ newest star didn’t disappoint, delivering a blue-collar message to the throng of fans in TD Garden.
“On behalf of my teammates, the coaching staff and the organization,” starts Walker, “I want to thank everyone for supporting us. We promise to work extremely hard all year and go hard all year.”
“Let’s get this thing going. Go Celtics!”
Walker’s Celtics debut was far from his best performance but the home fans will hope he gives them a better show as Boston takes on Toronto.
